Hello everyone,
I am a mother to a 7 year old in third grade. Her report card last year was horrifying and i am committed in investing the necessary tools: time and resources to ensure her grades are good.
Unfortunately, at times i felt like her teachers were grading her based on her behaviour ( she has ADHD and was unmedicated last year) rather than her actual work but thats just my thinking.
I want to send an email to her teacher along the lines of “HOW CAN MY DAUGHTER GET STRAIGHT A’s?” ( jks lool) but more like “HOW CAN MY DAUGHTER ACADEMICALLY SUCEED IN YOUR CLASS?”
is it appropriate to send an email? Is it okay to ask about the grading method? Like ask for the assessment criteria and ask to see the work that is being used for the grading scheme? I believe if i did that last year her grades would have been better because on her tests she would score super high but that wasnt being reflected on the report cards.
All advice welcomed. Thank you so much.
