Hi I am looking for research and studies on varied responding, as in giving alternative form versions of the same answer E.g. you ask a child "what is the man wearing? " And they say "a blue shirt. " however, the next time you ask they may pick to talk about pants or something else appropriate and accurate not just default to shirt if they're wearing a shirt.
How do you teach young students to vary their responses, give alternative explanations? Use their own words instead of just rote or copied responses?
Specifically looking for key words from the field of education to look up in databases, research articles or teaching intervention studies.
Thanks!
