What do you call information such as knowing the order and names of the planets?

What I mean is that it isn't information that you really need to function daily. Nobody is going to go to another planet. Or the names of other countries. Generally people aren't going to other countries on a daily basis or need that information.

You aren't going to use that information on a daily basis to live, but still it is information that is information that it is good to know. Is there a name for this type of information?
