I don’t understand how teachers are grading, the test score changed from last week and our son (6th) was already punished for failing! Can anyone explain why?

Last week online grade said he got a 42 in his division and multiplication of fractions test and he was punished for failing an exam, then this week I look at the score and it’s a 73 now. What the heck! Why does this happen? I want to send an email but I’m too angry right now and don’t wanna sound like an asshole.
