Advice for going back to school

So probably not the best place to ask and if it isn't then mods please move to someplace appropriate , but I'm 28 and thinking of trying to go back to school (mostly a trade/vocational school) however I have a few issues, on a more personal relation to this question.

  1. I have had awful experiences with teachers my entire life, what I mean is that I've had teacher after teacher whom I've asked for help in this or that (mostly math) where they wouldn't (or couldn't? ) break down the problem and help figure out where I was going wrong, or just get "it's in the book, read it" as a response to me asking how to do something, but not understanding how it's given in said book.

  2. I'm not entirely sure what I want to study for, I never really got a chance to try any electives in high school, and I briefly dabbled in a video production class post high school, but was kicked out after a month (teacher changed required software, books, etc 2 weeks in, also kept pulling me off the few projects I was assigned to and giving me 0s for it) and admittedly that whole experience left a massive sour taste in my mouth, I also did a web design class at work, but I highly suspect the guy that runs it might be a con artist (something I brought to my employer's attention and was given a "we'll look into it")

  3. What should I be looking for in any schools or classes that are offered online, this is mostly just so I don't waste money on a degree or class that goes nowhere.

  4. Probably the most personal part, but when I was younger I was diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder (and possibly ADD, but I'm not sure if I really have it or not honestly) and I never really learned any sort of way to work around it, or with it growing up and was wondering if anyone had any advice to help.
