Hello everyone,
I find myself in a little bit of a difficult situation here. So I was initially a computer science major, who has recently switched to maths and unfortunately I don’t have a lot of options left as for which electives I can take.
I know that I like Discrete Math, Number Theory, Combinatorial mathematics, but I’m wondering if I should use up all my electives in these classes rather than explore all areas of mathematics like Topology, Complex Analysis, Geometry and the like. I’m not sure what I should do. Can someone tell me about their experiences/opinions? I would be really grateful.
I still really like computer science and enjoy programming a lot. And it’s probably what I want to do in the future. But I switched to maths also because, I felt I needed a stronger base in mathematics if I wanted to be really good at Computer Science.
Can someone please give me some advise? I feel so frustrated and have literally been tearing hair off my head as to what to do.
