I’m in 9th grade and a requirement for our classes is to take a semester of Ethnic Studies. This class is to learn about every races different walks of life.
However, my teacher thinks that every single white person has had it easy. Now, please stop before you downvote. Whites definitely have it easier in this country, (USA), but that doesn’t mean we all came from easy beginnings. For example, my great grandfather immigrated from Italy and was prosecuted in the US because he was Italian.
When I asked my teacher his stance on Latino/as, he said they always had it the hardest. Hold on. He also said that Mexicans and Spaniards were good people. I privately asked about the Spanish conquest in present day Mexico (against the Aztecs). He claimed I was being disrespectful and rude.
Who’s right?
