I just received a letter refusing me admission into a math/science program at my dream high school that I was expecting to go to.
Fortunately, I am in the wait pool for my second choice, a humanities program at the same school, but I likely will not get in. Then there's my home high school - rated 2/5 on many platforms, and ranked 1,529 in the nation. It seems to have a very incompetent environment, and I have cried my eyes out thinking about attending this school. Will universities look at the high school I attended, and is it still possible for me to get admission into a successful university (MIT, Princeton), assuming I work hard enough? I should also add that I have been accepted into a program called P-TECH at my home school, from which I can earn a high school diploma and an associate degree. Despite Humanities being the complete opposite of the career I want to follow, I pray that I get in just for the school.
Thank you, I really need some encouragement.
