Can you use the same curriculum to teach language to both ESL kids and native English speakers (also kids)?

I was hired to develop a curriculum for ESL students (for an app). I created one based around the CEFR levels, focusing on gradually building vocabulary and grammar skills.

My employer then abruptly changed their target market and casually mentioned their focus will now be on native English speakers (but will eventually return to ESL students).

In theory, could the same curriculum work for both? I know language acquisition is very different when it's a native language versus a second language, but since it's for kids, could it theoretically work for both?

Since the focus is on building up vocabulary and practicing grammar, which can be helpful to both native speakers and foreign language learners, I'm hoping it somehow might, but I can just feel it that I'm missing something.

Can you see one curriculum being okay for both? Are there any obvious issues I should be on the lookout for?
