Tuition-Free education opportunity for CA residents over 18 (promise it's not a scam)

Hello r/education!

My name is Shane, I'm a Field Rep Organizer for a union (SEIU-UHW). My union partnered with an organization called Futuro Health not too long ago to create a program that offers tuition-free education in a few select healthcare careers, which change over time and are expanding to other roles within healthcare as interest grows.

I'm all honesty and for full clarity, I am being asked to meet a goal for applicants to sign up for this program. There is not a limit on how many people can sign up however. My issue is that 2 of the 4 current programs offered require in - person clinical labs and those are contracted to specific areas within Sacramento and North Hollywood. Our union spans the whole state, and my work area is contained to the north state (Redding area and surrounding towns), and a lot of the people I have contact with up there as potential applicants only have interest in 1 of these 2 programs, which means they would have to drive many miles multiple times a week and there is unfortunately a lack of interest in the small pool of candidates I've had the luxury of talking with.

The reason I reach out to reddit at this time is because I am assuming most of the users on reddit are tech savvy, or potentially some of you live in the areas specified above.

There are 4 programs : * Medical Assistant (requires in person clinical labs) * Dental Assistant (requires in person clinical labs) * Health IT (100% online) * Care Coordinator (100% online)

These programs are all mostly online, and two of them also require the in person labs. There is a small list of requirements to apply, but if you are 18 and live in CA with no felony charges/can pass a background check, you're likely applicable. Applying takes only a moment BUT to get the tuition waived you need to be referred by a current member of SEIU-UHW. I have consent from a handful of members to provide the necessary info of theirs to those interested in this.

Some small details: although it's tuition free, there is still some small payments to make. There is a one - time $100 registration fee, and continuous $20/month membership fee during your time in the program. If you are doing any in person clinical labs you will need up to date immunizations at your own cost and a $77 drug test. The MA program requires prerequisites of anatomy and physiology, and if you don't have that they offer it for $50 (called a Jump Start course).

You can look at some of these programs on their site, just search online for Futuro Health and that will take you to their site.

If you are interested in applying and want to get a seriously amazing deal on healthcare education, or you just want to help a fellow redditor in his career by getting his numbers to goal, please pm and/or chat me on here.

Note to mods: I sent a message to the mod team about this post on Friday and didn't get a response. I don't think this breaks any rules since it's not spam. Please message me if this post breaks any rules of this sub, before removing it.
