A bit of my background story here https://www.reddit.com/r/education/comments/ljvbme/i_am_almost_35yo_i_dont_have_a_satisfying_career/
I received a lot of useful suggestions (even privately) and thanks to them I realised that applying for the college would have been a good thing, even if I'm 35. I received my offer two days ago, will be studying Computing Science. Wanna get a diploma first then move to the third year of uni.
Last year a few redditors told me that taking some CompTIA certifications would have given me the opportunity to start my career in IT. They did not help me to land a job in IT (yet) but they made my college application much, much stronger.
I am 35yo and I have suffered so much for my lack of higher education, last year I was feeling lost and without a career and life plan. Now, for the first time in my life, I feel I have a proper, clear plan to work on. Lockdown in UK has been so hard but I am glad I managed to do something good for myself.
I am sure that this doesn't sound like a big deal for many of you but... it means the world to me. :)
