School Counselor - Job Requirement Question

Hello All,

First time posting in this sub. I have a question about the requirements to become a school counselor that I am looking for some insight on.

In short, my wife is looking to switch career focus a little bit by becoming a school counselor. She has a Masters in Family Therapy and a Bachelors degree in Psychology. If she wanted to become a licensed school counselor, does this usually require additional course work, etc? Since she has a masters in a similar counseling field, does that help?

I know this differs by location but I would imagine most states are similar. We are Indiana, US.
