Do I have to have a LinkedIn profile?

Hi!

I’m in the process of looking for a new job. For many reasons (including privacy issues), I’d rather not have a LinkedIn profile.

If most employers direct you to their own websites to apply, do you even need a LinkedIn profile? It seems unnecessary to me but I’d like to hear some thoughts.
