What would you look for in a video platform for virtual classrooms and virtual studying that's not in Zoom?

Hi everyone! My name's Alex and I'm a graduate student who is also working on a technology startup. With covid, I've been missing doing work, studying, and interacting in a social setting in and out of the classroom. I feel like I'm way more productive when I work around others. I also don't find Zoom to be all that engaging when I use it with peers. So I've been developing a virtual hangout website to work with others in a safe and easy way called Herefm.

I just wanted to start a discussion on what some people's favorite features are in a video chat. I'm trying to figure out what works and what doesn't work for connecting with others in this way. What would you all look for in a video conferencing tool that would best help you? I welcome any and all feedback and ideas!
