I have been a teacher for 8 years. Previously in the natural resources sector. In my time in teaching I have seen very little qualitatively improve, but special ed%, attendance and discipline have all improved on paper in the schools I worked at. As a Special Education teacher I was directed to mark absent kids present, delay sped paperwork and house children who weren't in a behavioral place to be in school-without getting them additional social emotional help.
All of these things take years to fix, but these administrators I work under seem to have been miracle workers who "fixed" these things in one school year.
How much do you fudge numbers vs actually allowing reforms to fix things?
