This Spring semester, I took two courses with the same instructor. I didn't know her beforehand or ask for student reviews. Recently, I received grades that seemed unfair (a B and a C), and I'm concerned she might have manipulated them because I stood up for myself and set boundaries when she crossed the line and tried to infringe on me. She even threatened to manipulate my grades if I discussed her poor teaching further.
Throughout the semester, she didn’t upload grades on LMS regularly, leaving us in the dark about our academic progress. She refused to answer my questions or clarify concepts, making it hard to understand the material. Once, when I asked for clarification in class, a classmate’s confusing answer left me more perplexed. When I asked the instructor for further explanation, she refused.
Her unprofessional behavior extended beyond the classroom. She interrupted students, ignored questions during office hours, and once made me wait 15 minutes outside her office during a scheduled meeting while she chatted on her phone. This meeting, approved by the department head, was supposed to be a review of my exam, which she had previously refused to discuss.
She didn’t finish the curriculum and held exams on material we weren’t prepared for. In FIN301, we were supposed to cover six chapters, and in EBA310 (a course on Power BI and Excel), we only needed to cover four chapters.
If you're a student at AUST or planning to attend, beware of registering for courses with her. Her behavior is unprofessional, and she seems driven by her own interests. What should I do to address this situation? How can I ensure this doesn't happen to others? And that I get the grades I deserve?
TLDR: I had an unprofessional instructor who seemed to manipulate grades, refused to help students, interrupted them, and didn’t finish the curriculum. How should I address this, and what can be done to prevent it from happening again and ensure that I get the grades I deserve?
