Hello, I'm a graduate of Pre School Education from Greece, . Our opportunities for work in my country are terrible in our field, with rediculous work hours and pay. I'm planning to go 1 year as an au-pair to the US on October, where I'll be able to practice my English even more and get some work experience abroad, an extra huge plus is the fact that I'll be able to join a university class payed by my host family there.
Anyway, people that work already as teachers in the US, what are your thoughts on me trying to get a job there as a teacher as soon as I finish my au-pair year? (I'm qualified to teach ages between 4-8 yo, plus I've graduated from a 1 year program of Child Psychology).
I know it will be hard, but I'm already going to have to immigrate somewhere (have to/want to), and I'm willing to put in the work as long as it's worth it. And since I'm already moving there for 1 year, I'm thinking of trying to find something there. Any thoughts? Would you suggest another country?
