Hello there! I'm a current high school senior, and I want to be a high school teacher one day. I want to start doing research on pedagogy and psycology to better prepare myself for college and my eventual career, so I would appreciate any reliable resources you have on either of these topics. I prefer academic sources, as casual sources tend to be...kinda horrible. At everything.
I especially want to learn more about psycological issues that may affect both classroom management and how students learn. I've got a decent understanding of the basic mental health issues and also of several neurodivergencies, but finding info on how they affect learning is very hard, particularly when it comes to neurodivergencies that aren't autism or adhd. In fact, finding any info on stuff like aspd or gifteness would be really appreciated, as conditions like that are so mired in stereotypes I literally have not been able to find a single source that isn't flowery and sensationalized, something I feel may be a trend even in actual research.
I'm not under the impression I'm going to become a psycologist or educator by reading articles from google, I just want to have a good grasp on these things so I can keep it in mind when I begin university. It's really important to me to make sure I understand the issues my students may have, as well as how to help them and what may be a sign of something more. I know what it feels like to have teachers that don't understand how your brain work, and I hope I can be better for my future students.
Any website or youtube channel or even a method for researching things is welcome! Thank you for your time!
