Hello, So I’m feeling like I need some insight, just please be nice but truthful. I work in retail and my union has a program that lets you get a free associates. When the program started there were 3 options (criminal justice, business, teacher education) of those three I thought the teacher education didn’t sound that bad. I only have five classes left until I get my associates, but I find myself wondering if I even want to be a teacher? I love lesson planning but I keep feeling inept. There are times where I am frustrated with my own kids so how can I be a teacher? My union is now offered a chance for a free bachelors with the same three starting degrees, since I have been getting my associates they now offer so many more programs for the associates only. I’ve been looking into degrees that you can get with a Bachelors in teacher education, and an instructional coordinator sounds very appealing. However I am wondering how much experience what you need in the field to land that career? As I said before I feel inept when teaching kids, granted I’ve had to help teach my son for almost the last year (virtually). What careers are possible with a bachelors in education where you aren’t a teacher, but still make a decent wage.
