I struggled so much in elementary school.

Thus is a bot of a time capsule for me.

I was bad at spelling, school, and home work.

In 4th grade we had these spelling books. Like 6 page per week. 16 words on the first page. The next 2 was about the vocabulary of those 12 words and the last 2 had 8 words that were much more difficult.

The layout of the test was, I think, all 16 of the first pages and a random 4 of the last 8.

But I could not learn to spell all the words well enough to do well on the tests. So what my teacher did after a parent teacher conference was she highlighted that 4 words of the I that would be on the test. That way I could focus exclusively on the important words. I dont remeber how I usually did. But I do remember getting an 80 and being thrilled about it.

I dont know how I feel about this. I got special treatment to succeed in elementary school, this was not the only instance of this sort of thing, and I still preformed worse than the average. it does make me happy that I got into college at all and have the opportunity to surpass what my teachers and parent probably thought I would achieve when I was little.
