I am an extremely well rounded student-athlete who has played three sports, taken part in multiple extracurriculars catering to my field of interest and community service, held two jobs, and always maintained a GPA above a 3.8 for all of high school. My first semester of junior year I took an honors math class I had absolutely no business being in, and received a C-. My GPA that semester was it’s lowest ever at a 3.8. The following semester I switched into a regular math class and received a B, bumping my GPA up to a 4.0 again. Given this circumstance, does it really hurt or affect my chances of getting in considering that for USC I am applying for Business Cinematic Arts as my first choice and Communication as my second choice. For UCLA I am applying to the film school first choice and applying for business administration second choice.
