Education Makes Humanity Renewable

Promoting general welfare is a contentious topic that is interpreted in many ways. I don't hope to tell anyone what it means to them.

Education makes smarter people who are more capable to support themselves and less likely to be criminals.

The investment in educating young people will exist as long as we have people who could benefit from education (everyone/always).

The investment is not something to be realized in a political term. It may not even be realized for the current generation. Paying into education for the the next generation is even more important as those that paid into it in the generation before.

We see efforts to forgive the debts of people that made their choices at the expense of others who planned. We see inflation for all so that unprepared people can survive. On one hand it is compassion. On the other hand, it deincentivises hard work, future planning, and the idea that getting ahead is anything but an exctinct possibility.

If you make less than 50k right now... I see people sit at home and live off the government. Will the aid run out, maybe, but until then, I am seeing the leachs on the system: people able to work quitting their jobs to be unemployed as a career move... Some might say, pay a living wage... I say, have a skill worth being paid more for. Education is the way. Making people valuable in ways that is employable. The value an employee adds should be greater than what they cost.

I-4 in Central Florida has been under construction forever... they are out of space to widen the road any further. So, they put in dynamic toll lanes. These will make using the express lanes more expensive as more use the express lanes until the volume of traffic that uses them is low enough. This doesn't solve the traffic problem. It just means poor people are stuck with it and the rich can drive through the jam.

Socializing transportation for the masses isn't even possible with hundreds of millions of dollars.

Education makes for people that can take care of themselves. Education makes for people that are employable. Relying on others isn't sustainable. From my perspective, people that take care of themselves and their own promote general welfare.
