Hi, I'm a Middle School teacher trying to develop a curriculum about Safety on the Internet, and I wanted to teach my students about stalking and what stalking behaviors look like, and I wanted to include a section about resources students could reach out to. But I noticed that a lot of resources involve calling 911 and contacting Police. As someone who was once stalked, I know that there is little police can do to help survivors of stalking and that in cases that involve people of color police are likely to arrest survivors versus victims. It makes me sad to give my students, many of whom are BIPOC, generic advice that a lot of survivors of stalking tend to get. I will of course include it in the curriculum, but I was also wondering if there were some more up-to-date advice that I could give my students?
