Do 11 year olds have trouble adjusting socially to middle school?

Do you think that 11 year olds have trouble adjusting to grade 6 in a middle school? Or do you think they do fine?

If there is an issue, do you know if younger 11 year olds have more trouble than older 11 yea olds? And do you feel that the type of middle school or school makes a difference? For example, a k-8 / K-6 school may be different from a 6-8 school. What experience do you have as an educator, a parent, or as a student? Thanks for sharing!
