Advice for sibling who is neither interested in STEM or art.

He is a bit of a late bloomer, so our family has been patient, and he is now in high school. He did piano, science fair, science olympiad, and countless things in both STEM and art, but he didnt really find anything passionate. Lately, he has been showing small signs of ADHD (not paying attention in class, doing partial homework, not so grest GPA), so, I am more concerned than before.

His older sibling (me) had a pretty easy ride in high school (I found STEM to be easy) and attends Caltech. I talked to him several times about not needing to follow my route, but my parents are pretty conservative when it comes to education (get good GPA, go to good college, get a good job...), and I know there are pressure (from parents and teachers that knew me).

I have been observant of my brother, because I want him to find what he loves to do. Here is what I found so far about him.

  1. He likes to read Harry Potter-like novels and as a result, he reads much more than his peer.
  2. However, he takes way too long doing his school HW, so he rarely reads during school season.
  3. No talent or interest in art or music.
  4. Interested in war-related history-watches a lot of war videos and books.
  5. Good at math, but lacks interest or focus.
  6. Shy at home, talkative in school.
  7. Lacks motivation in GPA or test results.
  8. His career goal is to becomd a pilot, and wants to go to the air force, but I dont think he will enjoy the process of becoming a pilot or military school.
  9. Very, very stubborn, doesnt listen to parents or me at all.

Any advice?
