Can my Academic Chairperson at my Community College waive a Prerequisite requirement for a class?

I took the class last year but failed because of my own stupidity and challenging times when classes suddenly went online due to covid-19 last year.

I failed that important class, but I know the material because I continued to study it for months after that.

Anyways, my question is can my school waive the prerequisite requirement if they felt I could actually pass the class?

I am a 42 year old adult and I need to move forward with my education.
