I work in the school system in Canada as a behaviour technician and love my job. However, after observing the school system for a bit, it rings true to its name. It's a "system". Kids are put into boxes, aren't allowed to ask questions if it doesn't pertain to the subject ( to a certain degree), and are expected to go along with the curriculum. It sucks because some kids who don't "fit" into the school system choose not to fit the traditional mold of a student, but think outside the box.
My question to this community would be; is it time we start teaching kids to think critically about the information they receive during their schooling?
What would be some of the pros and cons?
Thanks
