Are there any good alternatives to Windows Sticky notes?

So I just entered college and I'm a Computer science freshie and I want to be organized with everything especially time management that means I want to be always on time with assignments, studies for exams, etc. I planned on using sticky notes but there is one problem, It shows up in the taskbar, and I'm a person who always uses keyboard shortcuts especially Alt-Tabbing and I don't like it when I alt-tab and the Sticky notes show up especially when I'm doing something quick. So do you guys have any good suggestions for alternatives?
