Hello everyone, I'm about to start teaching my 40 year old male relative how to read and write [Somali]. That's pretty much it. But since he's so old and spent 40 years of his life illiterate I don't think this is an easy task, so I'm looking for some tips, hacks, psychological tricks or smart ways to speed up the process and rise his motivation. He could've learned how to read/write ages ago but he didn't, I even tried teaching him multiple times in the past but he wasn't willing, this time though he's kinda willing.
I also need some crammed general knowledge stuff to provide him as a reading material after he learns to read. You know something like geography, science, history, tech, how stuff works, important basic knowledge... You get the idea. I don't know if a book, a site or something like this exist but it will be greatly appreciated if someone recommends stuff like this.
Thank you for your attention.
