Letter of Intent for M.Ed. Program(s) (Ontario, Canada)

Hello, educators of Reddit,

I'm a recent graduate of YorkU's B.Ed. program and I've also gotten an AQ for Career and Guidance Education. I have been debating applying for a Master of Education with a concentration on Counselling Psychology. It is something that would allow me to be a Guidance Counsellor if I move to a different province. Right now I am primarily looking at UofT OISE and Ottawa's programs.

I understand the majority of the application process, but my major concern is the Letter of Intent. The program seems to be course-based as opposed to research-based which I am more than fine with, but I have never actually seen, or had to do a Letter of Intent. So I was wondering if there is anyone in the sub who could help me with resources or have advice on what I should focus on. I have a general idea but I have no clue what I'm doing - it isn't something that I've really had a chance to learn about.

I have reached out to OISE's general email to try and ask if there is anyone I can talk to about the whole thing and if there are supports for applications, but I have yet to hear back yet. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.
