Quick question, as a highschool kid in the US who’s about to start his last semester, what would happen if I didn’t take the suggested amount of credits for a class?

I’m about to go into my senior year for highschool. It’s required that I have at least 2 language credits, but I’ve heard some people say it doesn’t really matter but most colleges look to see that people have a minimum of 2 credits. From what I know, I’m not planning on pursuing anything that necessarily needs those credits. I’m doing a dual credit course which takes up most of my classes from the highschool as well, which is why I’m asking this in the first place. Should I drop something like art class just so I can take a language one? Or does it not matter?

(I know this is a very specific question and many people do not live in the United States, however I do know that having a certain amount of needed credits is a common practice amongst educational institutions around the world. So if u don’t live in the US but are knowledgeable about this sort of thing please lend a hand if u can)
