Calling All Students! What are Your Favorite Notion Templates for Studying?

Students Who Use Notion - What are Your Favorite Study/Planning Templates?

I’m pretty new to Notion so some of these may already be popular/not popular, comment with your favorite templates!

Have you found Notion to have a positive impact on your planning/studying?

Here's some that I’ve found via Reddit:

Campus Life Organizer

This planner looks great. This template includes:

  • Planner - This is where you keep track of any important dates such as exams, class assignment deadlines, activities etc.
  • Time Management - This allows you to split your day into sections and create specific time blocks for things like studying, personal time, coursework etc. You can also include any times for your classes, library time and groupwork.
  • Networking - This is great for helping you get more out of social events. It provides an area to note the contact details of anyone you meet that you’d like to stay in contact with. This area has a how we met section which is useful if you are not great at remembering specific details. You’ll likely find yourself using this area to help you introduce yourself to people you meet for the 2nd time.
  • Goals - Set your goals. This is great for tracking your goals and making you feel more responsible for meeting them.
  • Budget Tracker - Great for helping you build your independence and learn more about money management. Set aside a budget for food, personal activities, hobbies and social events.

Resonance Calendar

This one is essentially just somewhere to note anything that you watched / read that was standout to you compared to other stuff you watch.

If you read a great blog post or watch a podcast that you loved then put it in the resonance calendar. It makes a great reference for if you are looking for that resource again. It’s also great for having a reference of things that you enjoyed watching before for if you are bored and want to watch something that you know is quality.

Aesthetics Student Planner

Another student planner, this one has more focus on the design of the planner. If you are after a great planner which also has a great design then this one's for you!

This template includes:

  • Semester overview
  • Course info
  • Grade tracker
  • Assignments
  • Essay planner
  • Homework tracker
  • Definitions list
  • Materials tracker
  • Study time tracker
  • Study sessions and more....

Spaced Repetition

What is Spaced Repetition?

Spaced repetition is the strategy of spacing out your studying through the introduction of time intervals. By doing this you can remember more even if your cumulative hours spent on studying is reduced. This is in order to combat the forgetting curve, and is the most powerful tool for us to improve our brain's ability to recall information. The general rule of thumb is to review within 8 hours after the initial exposure to material, a day after the first review section and then a week or a month until you feel comfortable with the subject. For this template, the first rep is after one day, the second rep is after 7 days, the third after 20 days and the fourth after 35 days.

How do I use this Template?

The template is easy to use and not extremely complicated. The most important part is that you evaluate your level of comfort with the content after each rep. You do not have do always do 4 reps! 1 indicates that you are still uncomfortable with the topic while 5 indicates complete mastery, if you get to 5 you are done. After you check a to-do the formula will automatically update your next review date according to the time-table above. Be sure to indicate in your notes which are you need to improve the most etc. If you want to edit how often each rep occurs, click on the "Next Rep" tab, hit "Edit Formula" then proceed to change the numerical values.
