Will my degree subject face recognition problems if I move to other countries?

So 8 days ago, I posted a question about tuition fees in the U.S. recommending Americans to study abroad in Europe in case of having the means to.

A few U.S. redditors suggested that a degree earned abroad in Europe might not be recognised back home.

This made me question my own education, I recently switched to "Translation and Interpretation Studies" and just realized that this major is rarely offered in most countries, the subject title is barely heard of in countries like the United States.

So, is a bachelor's degree still a bachelor's degree even if the subject is not that popular?

I am confused since I have no idea how this recognition thing works when it comes to immigration etc.
