The correlation between (1) performance in university (2) performance on the job

Hello,
if I choose, I will in 3 years time, have a bachelor's degree from a good university.
I am curious though, about this relationship. A lot of people seem to think that their education was good for getting the job, but that they inevitably had to learn the job afterwards and that the knowledge they had when they came there, was irrelevant or/and outdated

This worries me, I would like to think that if I get A´s in every course, I will be able to do the job
afterwards.

If this is not the case, then I can´t rationalize doing anymore than what I need for simply passing.

Education / Job in this case, is computer science / programmer

What are your thoughts? Is there any available research on the topic?
