Do you know NASA launched a spacecraft on a mission to smash into an asteroid and test whether it would be possible to knock a speeding space rock off course if one were to threaten Earth.

DART's journey to the asteroid pair will take 10 months. The collision will take place approximately 6.8 million miles (11 million kilometres) from Earth. If the operation is successful, Nasa and other space organisations will be able to divert an asteroid hurtling towards Earth and escape an Armageddon-style collision.
