Teaching a university course next semester on US Society and Education. What issues do you think we should explore?

Of course I have lots of ideas, previous syllabi, and experience teaching this course. But as I know many subscribers are themselves teachers, I think it could be useful to consider what many currently working in american classrooms care about.
