Standards-Based Grading Will Ruin Education

This new system is known as “standards-based grading” or “mastery-based grading,” but this is a misnomer because it actually destroys standards and discourages mastery. It’s not even grading, it is a way to avoid grading that allows for grade inflation, a dumbing-down of classroom materials, and the elimination of accountability measures.
