Questions Regarding Learning Disabilities

Hi there, I am working on my teaching license and I have an assignment in one of my courses to interview some educators about students with learning disabilities. I thought I'd post the questions up here and see if anybody has any insights to share on the subject.

1. What is your position? (i.e. homeroom teacher, special needs teacher, school administrator, etc.)
2. What are the signs of a struggling student?
3. How can differentiated instruction be used to assist students who are struggling?
4. How do teachers involve parents in helping struggling students?
5. How do you determine if a student should be referred to special education services?
6. What is your school administration's directive for special education?
