Is there a benefit to reading books in lieu of getting the information elsewhere? (internet, podcasts, videos, etc.)

I often hear people say something along the lines of:

"Successful people read books frequently"

The obvious reason for this, is that they are exposing themselves to new information or ideas. But people could do this through a myriad of other mediums now

This is obviously subjective, but it feels like people are still harping on books, and not the other mediums

Which makes me wonder, is there something more to reading books than just the information gained?

Is it that books don't contain distractions like the other mediums? (Ads in podcasts/videos, and infinite distractions on the internet)

Is it that the information is retained better when reading on paper rather than a screen?

Does the book act as an anchor? (Your mind immediately goes to "learn mode" when picking up the book)

Or is it just that the saying has not been updated, and it really is just about the information?

Thoughts?
