Question on Schooling Process / Rules in US (Oregon) / (Expat)

Hi,

I have question on schooling rules in US / Oregon.

I am moving with my family from Amsterdam to Bethany, Oregon. I will be looking to enroll my 6 yr old in a public elementary school in that school district. I will have temporary housing for first few months before I have to find permanent housing.

So I am curious about the enrollment / school change process ? Do I have to immediately move schools for my son after I move out of that school district or there is some grace period by which I am able to let him finish the school year and then change the schools.
