Do biochemist graduates have any hope in Karachi?

Hi. It might feel like it doesn’t belong here but please stick with me and give your honest opinion over the field itself.

My friend is doing bachelors in biochemistry. It wasn’t by choice. She didn’t have score high enough to go in some other field(yeah, that happens in my country).

Her 4th year has started and she took biotechnology as major for thesis. She stumbled upon few posts on Quora where people from Pakistan specifically were extremely demotivating about the field and said to change that right away or don’t go there.

She’s been feeling restless and worried about it lately and I assured her that we’ll look into it, do our own research over it but it doesn’t seem to calm her nerves. I mean, no one would be okay with that when they come across numerous disappointing comments.

Do any of you belong to that field or have any credible information about it? She’s open to internships around places if that helps in changing field from Biochemistry itself but the thing is, people’s replies seemed to express that there is no scope for it. It would be extremely helpful if anyone can guide me on that. Thank you.
