So I am in college to become a teacher. In one of my textbooks, they start a chapter with a short introduction story about a freshman in high school going to the school bookstore to buy all the books she will need for the year. I have never heard of anyone having to buy textbooks for high school (except for maybe buying a novel to annotate for English) is that a thing that happens in other places? How is that legal/there's not a big riot about it? If not, I guess the writers of this book have spent too long at the college level 😂.
(Side note: I'm in the US, but it'd be interesting to know if buying high school books was the norm elsewhere)
