College students of reddit: Do you have a job?

I mean, while in studying season. And if so, how does it affect your accademic performance? do you have (or had) any source of income?

This question comes from a personal situation. You'll see, in am 20 years old now, and money have never been abundant for me, and i'm in a stage of my life where i want to be able to buy things for myself. The thing is that i'm in physics (planning to switch to computer engineering) and as you may know, this isn't a degree in the wich you can skip some studying days and pretend that everything is going to be okay.

I had some friends that triend to work a job while studying, and they just messed up their classes with bad grades.

If there is any college professor reading this, what would be your advice?
