What should I expect moving to an US Hugh school, coming from England??

Ok so I am currently in year 10 (14-15years old), and my family have been looking at moving the the US.

If we were to go, it would probably be Vermont?

Anyway, I'd like to know what school life is like, what general life is like, and how its different?

Like I'd be joining into the second year of high school - if I joined this year, or I could wait until I have taken my GCSEs, and join the year after.

I have very high grades (8s and 9s) on maths, sciences, music, I media, geography, and decent in English (7).

One thing I saw is you have to take a language in the US??

How would it work joining high school on the second year? Will I be missing out on much?

And lastly, what are some cultural things I need to be aware of? I saw I need to hold back ny language as apparently Americans can often be confused If US Brits are being serious, or just messing around?

Anyone that's moved from England to US, or just anyone that knows about US high schools will be very appreciated.
