What do you hate about the field of education?

I have a couple of paths before me. Lots of opportunities, but two solidified. I am an incoming New York City Teaching Fellow, with an assigned subject area of Special Education, as a generalist, for the 7 to 12 grades. I have no classroom management experience, and I made the decision to be a teacher when I was unemployed.

I'm hoping to hear real life insights of veteran teachers. What do you hate or dislike about your profession? What changes would you like to see? Would you enter the profession now knowing what you know?

I know I would be a great teacher, I'm just not sure if it would be something I enjoy. In life, I truly don't think there is a perfect job, so this would just be the lesser of all evils. I studied advertising, but if you know anything about that field, it's hard to move up and get into the door.

I don't mind students, I enjoy teaching and coaching, and I had a great experience with high school.

Looking to hear stories about veteran teachers, maybe deep in their profession about what they feel the industry is headed. Thanks.
