Penn Foster graduate wanting to get into a university

I stopped going to high school after my freshman year, and I got my high school diploma through the online school Penn Foster. I never thought I would ever want to go to college because I always hated school when I was younger, but recently I’ve wanted to get a degree in psychology. I always assumed I would be able to get into a university with my diploma, but I found out that lots of universities don’t accept a Penn Foster diploma because of the credits required for most schools. I only got 1 credit for a foreign language my freshman year, and most colleges require 2. I also never did Algebra 2. If I go to a community college and do all my prerequisites, will I be able to transfer to a university? Or will the high school credits I didn’t complete still matter?
