My professor accused me of cheating and I think I was in the right here

The first week of class he uploaded some of the assignments and upcoming tests and final exam. On the tests and final he made it so we can print out the test before the due date(they were from last year as the date showed on the front page) I noticed this and was about to ask him when another student beat me to it and asked him if we could print them before hand to his response, “yeah sure.” That was the green light for me and the only reason I printed them before the test is because my printer is messed up and occasionally doesn’t print when I ask it to so I didn’t want to risk it. On the second exam he called out my test in front of the class saying I cheated(but didn’t show my name,but I came up front and said that’s mine) he said I got this test from online because the date on it was from last year(I didn’t see the date because I wasn’t examining the test before the day… I don’t want to risk getting kicked out) and I explained everything to him and the guy that asking him the question in the beginning stood up for me. He gave me two options, drop the class or face dean consequences. After class I negotiated with him by telling him it was just preparation no malicious intent and that if he wanted to he can drop that test and I can do a retake of it on the last week of class to which he agreed… Was i in the wrong here?

Today: He kicked me out of my old work group that does work and are really smart, to a group that don’t talk and do work. He’s tying a hand behind my back right now.
