Hi everyone, Is there anyone here who knows a web page or a PDf document that explains well the operation of a triac with a load (resistive, inductive, purely inductive) ?

Hi everyone, Is there anyone here who knows a web page or a PDf document that explains well the operation of a triac with a load (resistive, inductive, purely inductive) ?
I got a 3.4 in undergrad by procrastinating 80% of the time and doing the bare minimum
Hi,
Not sure where else to ask this but could someone tell me if there is a difference between receiving an ATAR of 97 for example during school HSC or receiving the same ATAR after doing an ‘Open Foundation’ course?
Are the two marked the same or is one easier than another?
Thanks!
I have a 10th grade English student who could either fail or pass the class based on a few points on an assignment. I try to keep things fair and let the rubrics and the math do their job. However, let's be honest, there is enough subjectivity in ELA that I could swing things in either direction and be completely in the clear. Please take a look at the pros/cons list below and give me an idea of what you would do in my situation!
Cons of failing the student:
Potential lack of motivation from the student next semester, resentment towards the content area or the class -- the usual.
Pros of failing the student:
Though I have a positive rapport with this student, I am bothered by some of the comments he has made, including "it does not matter what I do; I'll end up passing anyway." I am afraid that letting him pass will reinforce the idea that just showing up and putting in extremely minimal effort is a way to get through life. He is also periodically extremely disrespectful, so I am concerned that I would be reinforcing that it is ok to disrespect authority figures and things will be fine in the end. Though he put in some effort towards the end of the semester, he completely slacked off for the majority of it -- again, what does this reinforce if I pass him? That it's ok to be lazy as long as you put your best foot forward 10% of the time at the very end of an endeavor?
Let me know your thoughts!
I have exams coming up and I just feel overwhelmed by the study materials I have to learn. When I try to vent to my family members they just basically say I'm weak and that I'm whining. I feel very sad that I don't have support of my closest relatives.
When I learn I just can't comperhend the text enough to memorise it. Now I believe that collage isn't for everyone.
Somethimes I wonder if life would be easier if I just get a job and just do my 8 hours and go home and watch TV, relax, go to gym etc.
After receiving a degree in the US, how do Chinese students perform economically and professionally compared to those who were educated in China? Income, career status, etc. Please provide references to data/studies.
Hey guys I’m a developer and I want to build a tool for students. what would you want? What are things you struggle with and wish there was a solution for? Please hold nothing back. Thank you guys :)
The school district where my daughter goes to has been calling places to talk bad about my family. They have been saying that because they are a school they could suddenly talk to people about my child without my consent and without letting me know about it. Is this true ?
I’m at my last year of high school and In a few months I’m gonna have to pick where to go for Uni. I hear the us is better. And other people say the uk is better and is shorter. All of the people I know that went to study in American dropped out. And there’s people I know who studied in the uk that also dropped out but most of them graduated. I’m leaning towards the us but I’m kind of intimidated. So I’m asking for people who have had experience to tell me which uni would you recommend?
I am Moroccan. I graduated this year with a diploma in English Studies. As I was struggling with mental health issues in college, I had poor grades making my degree useless in finding a job in teaching or pursuing a master's degree. At 24, what should I do?
Making data-supported decisions is the best way to achieve the ultimate efficiency of learning and teaching, improving the learners’ experience, increasing the satisfaction of both students and teachers, and even cutting the operational costs of an educational institution. Data-driven decision in education has lots of benefits such as personalization and performance improvement.
Hi all! I'm thinking of getting my master's in social work, and have been strongly considering getting my master's in Europe, for financial reasons and also potentially staying in Europe after graduation. Has anyone here done this before, or know of anyone doing this?
I guess I'm looking to see if this makes sense in the long run, and talk to some folks who aren't biased for or against me going.
Thanks in advance!
Recently I was trying to find the word "accelerator" using google. To my surprise, the 1st page of google search results does not even try to tell what is this (1 entry was relatively close to what physicists use). About 30-40 years ago, it would be hard to find somebody who does not know what is this. Some non-commercial projects (like encycloreader.org) give the correct answer, but only a few know about similar specialized resources. This is a rather dangerous trend when the main search engines prioritize company names and various memes over general knowledge.
I live in Los Angeles and was looking at the starting salary for professors at my college only to find out that it's almost at $70K/year and can make up to $130K/year!
Compared to my highschool where starting salaries for teachers is like at $40K/year and can make up to $80K, is that the case for every professor vs teacher?
A memoire of my experience attending a school district that put its numbers first and students second in terms of high school enrollment policies. My big question is at the end of my rant.
I grew up in the Seattle Public School District, from 1993 (district based preschool, K-5 beginning 1996) to 2009, where it was norm to attend your neighborhood K-5 School, options to attend neighborhood/zoned middle school or K-8 school, but for high school, there weren't enough high schools throughout the city for students to attend, and not all neighborhoods or clusters of zip codes had a high school to call their own, so many students would be assigned to the nearest high school: A) based on their enrollment zone for K-5 school; B) based on nearest high school with a traditional, comprehensive curriculum (not alternative/option/vocational/magnet program); C) based on diversity population percentages of that individual student's ethnicity (not just race alone) in comparison to how many more students that high school needs of that ethnicity; D) based on race of Asian, Pacific Islander, White, Black, Latino or Middle Eastern and what the majority race of a high school currently is, thus they would be enrolled there; E) very few high schools in SPS are typical FEEDER/RECIEVING-ONLY high schools, to be fed students from nearby middle schools, which would be fed by nearby elementary schools.
Basically, you could live in majority-one-race zip code or enrollment zone, your neighborhood high school is already the majority of your ethnicity/race, and bc that school has met the status quo in how many % students are what ethnicities, you might be considered "one too many", thus you're enrolled/assigned to attend a high school OUTSIDE of Your Enrollment Zone, by anywhere from 1 high school away to 8 high schools away from your enrollment zone and home address. Seattle's high schools run from South to North, and from the farthest south SPS zipcode, some students would/could be assigned to attend a high school that EIGHT ZONES AWAY, with a 50% chance of being provided district-run yellow school bus route, or be given a Metro bus pass (known as the Orca Card).
I attended the farthest North high school in the SPS. It was 3 zones away from my enrollment zone. That was for 9th and 10th grades. Then I attended the high school that was designated for my enrollment zone, one neighborhood away but in my Assigned Zone. There were not enough high schools for a growing city, for many neighborhoods, and for many new students arriving after 9th grade, coming from other districts/states/nations. Hundreds of thousands of students in the history of SPS have had to struggle and endure the challenges of attending a high school nowhere near their homes, far away by school bus or public transit, earlier wake-up times than transportation options would even begin their routes, and living too far from home to attend after-school clubs and events, or to participate in league-based athletics, let alone hang out and and socially interact with friends on campus or in the high school's main neighborhood.
MY QUESTION FOR THE MASSES: WHAT OTHER ***URBAN* SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE US AND CANADA RUN THEIR HIGH SCHOOL ENROLLMENT PROCESSES IN A SIMILAR FASHION, AND TO WHAT EXTENT DO THE STUDENTS SUFFER AT THE COST OF NOT ENOUGH SCHOOLS?** (this question applies to urban school districts, with the exception of suburban allowed. It does not apply to Rural school districts that would ultimately resort to Zoning their schools as "FEEDER/RECIEVING" schools, and ultimately if you live in a rural county with only 1 high school available, despite transportation challenges it does not equate to the urban setting).
Hi guys we need some volunteers for the betterment of education system in the different parts of the world. Those who are interested kindly DM or comment
There is this organization called iTutor. I came across it and found it really interesting. Their goal is to promote accessible education and this summer they had raised $2,000 from some workshops they held and donated it to charity. Their holding a competition for art, photography, and creative writing. What do you guys think about organizations and businesses like this?
I wanna study abroad.
When I apply to a university, it asks me to submit a high school transcript.
So, I went to the high school I attended, and asked to give me a transcript.
(In our country, schools usually don’t give a transcript. To go to university, we just need to submit our matriculation exam marks.)
When I went there and asked for a transcript, they said they don’t know what to do as they don’t know the format. All they can do is searching for my grades and marks that I got at the tests and exams.
They told me to make a form by myself and print it out. Then, they said they will gonna fill the form.
But the problem is that I’ve never seen a high school transcript before. And I don’t know what should include in a transcript.
Is it okay if I just put school grades and the subjects I learnt. What do I need to add more? Help!
Btw when I googled it, some people also said that a high school transcript should be sealed in an envelope. Do I need to do that?
Hello everyone, first post here. So I am a bit curious about how the whole system works. You might be surprised I am even asking this, but I really am not acquainted with a lot of things.
As the title says, I am a fresh graduate, sort of. I graduated Language and Literature in July this year and I have been idle until now. I was going to continue with my education, start my Master's but I couldn't afford it at the time. Now I am looking for an internship at my high school. What is the process like? Is it the exact same as applying for a job or must I contact them prior to sending anything like a CV and a cover letter? Also, is it advisable to ask for a recommendation from a professor? It feels really silly to ask for some reason. Thanks for the help.
26, F. I graduated BS Medical Tecnology because I thought I would pursue medicine, but I figured out I'd like to continue my family's small company instead. I'd like to take managerial courses, but since it's pandemic, I'd like to have online classes. Is HBS (Harvard Business School) Online worth it? Any suggestions for me? Thanks!
Hi, can you help me out?
If you can complete this questionnaire and spread it around that would be great!
Can a high school junior graduate high school if he he enough credits to graduate?
I get fundraiser emails to parents. When people are already struggling with student loans, how do these feel to you?
Hey all, I have a list of colleges/universities that I'm able to apply to as of right now. My goal being to become a registered nurse. So I'd love some input regarding the cities, college reputations, campus life etc.
I've never been to the states, in other words I have no idea. Hence this post.
So I've been told there are two ways. Either go the direct route and study 4 years at a university to get your bachelor's degree. The other alternative being 2 years at a community college to later transfer to a university for the last 2.
Anyway, the list.
North Park University, Chicago
Santa Monica College
Lane Community College (Eugene, OR)
Green River College (Auburn, WA)
Hillsborough Community College (Plant City, FL)
Yeah I said it, say no to your student debt. Who's with me? What is the government going to do when millions of Americans do not start to pay their student debt next month? Are they going to lock us all up? Are they going to take away our degrees? I'm going to make a Facebook page to help organize and gather the masses today in hopes that we can collectively protest student debt. Who's with me?
I wish Appalachian cultural traditions could help every American student succeed in learning math.
One of our idioms, "Stupidity is the highest wisdom." is an example of "X and not X".
When we teach mathematics, we rely on an underlying cognition system of classical logic, this logic is like a tree -- begin with axioms that don't contradict with each other.
Is this the root cause of inequality in logic and mathematics education?
Dominant ideology is invented by rich white intellectuals. They are built on classical propositional logic. Non-classical logic systems , that legitimizes contradictory axioms, dialogical proofs and reaches contradicting conclusions, are naturally suppressed by the ideology dominance. Thus, classical logic does not support opposition to white supremacy and class oppression, because it rejects "X and not X", while minorities and poor are deprived of abilities to achieve X.
I am not educated on this topic, but I feel it's nothing new in society's practice. Dialogues, for example, contain two separate trees of propositions that might come from different roots. In language education, different regions could have different words and pronunciations.
If we have an alternative logic system that tolerates "X and not X", we might be able to find out new ways to teach math.
Can we build a fundamentally diverse set of mathematics on this alternative logic system? Will underclass and minority students find this new mathematics more learnable and acceptable?
Of course I have lots of ideas, previous syllabi, and experience teaching this course. But as I know many subscribers are themselves teachers, I think it could be useful to consider what many currently working in american classrooms care about.
If you can provide readings/learning materials with your suggestion, it would be even more appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I was thinking I could take geography, English and physics as A-levels? I'm not sure what career I would like to pursue, but what potential jobs could I get with these?
i’m 17, dropped out of highschool to work and save for my future, perfect 800 score on my ged but i’ve no idea if the classes i took my freshman year(last completed highschool year) will qualify for the uc subject requirements, i was in classes that were ahead of my class but were not labeled as AP classes specifically. this is the main cause for my confusion
I'm going to do an adult nursing degree next year and I want to know if it'll help me if I decide to become a psychiatrist
I am looking into going to school to become a paralegal. I am completely ignorant of how to go about it though. I have a GED and zero college under my belt at 32 years old. I've been a career bartender and it's killing me in more ways than one so I'd like to figure out a career that's more stable and my friend suggested this based on what she knows about me. I like to read and research and learn and I'm really sick of dealing with people in the world of sales. Are there any good online schools I should look into? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.
I’m a 24F who sucks at communicating with people. I’m majoring in Mathematics. I know after school I will have to preset my work in front of others.
I am horrible at trying to get things out. My vocabulary skills are really low. I do not know a lot of big words. Or even small words that have bigger meanings. I may hear a word and pick it up. But I do not know the definitions !!
I do not know how to talk to cooperate people that are on a higher level than me.
I just want to learn to talk to people more professional. I want my sentences to sound right. I also suck at writing. I find myself writing like a middle schooler !!
FYI, I’VE ALWAYS HAD A HARD TIME IN READING & LANGUAGE ARTS GROWING UP. Barely passed my college writing classes.
Please help !!
If Chinese/South Korean students are all so smart yet to get into say med school there is highly competitive why don't they move to say America, Canada, UK or Australia as the general population is 'less smart'.
Firstly, if there's a better subreddit to ask in please tell me, I wasn't really sure where to ask.
Well it's my first semester of sophomore year and I got a C on as my semester grade in AP World History. I have B's and A's everywhere else. Mostly honors classes + AP world and a few music classes. Did I just cut myself out of all the top schools? I've emailed my teacher to see if I can makeup work during winter break because grading technically closed after but I doubt she'll say yes.
Hello everyone. Today I had an interesting idea. I am a recently graduated college student and was recently asked by my little brother to help him with his studies. He’s really nervous and since he just started college, everything can feel a little overwhelming.
So I had a thought. What if you had a platform where more experienced academics help the lesser experienced ones in any way possible.
So what I did was, I created a dis.cord server called;
“ACADEMICS WORLDWIDE”
I don’t expect it to become anything but I just think it would be a pretty cool thing, if it did. If you are interested, have different ideas to create a platform like this, I am very interested.
23 y/o male
Graduated high school in 2016 (17 y/o) and had a gap year to upgrade. I began college Fall of 2017 and moved out of my parents home relying 100% on student loans. I completed two years of college and transferred to a university in a different province (im from Canada) and am now enrolled in a finance degree program at a good university.
I was excited to start life but after 1 semester Thinks didn’t work out so I moved back and went to a university back home. After 1 semester there Of doing pre requisite courses for the program I wanted to get into, i got rejected so I decided to back to the province I moved from. After sorting out the credit transfers, it’ll take me another 2.5 years with 90k of debt to graduate with a bachelors in finance.
I am so stressed and lost for words, I feel like my situation is horrendous. What should I do until I graduate to reduce debt? Please keep in mind, im living alone doing all the house work and cooking while taking 4 courses per semester. Im willing to work hard and hoping to hear back.
I received a message from the Board asking me to call them and saying “please” a lot. this message is from Feb 2020, I graduated in may 2019. It is a small school and I was never the best student, but I knew a lot of the staff personally. Any thoughts?
Everything had smelled normal or usually nothing but all of a sudden i have smelt food that smells almost sweaty. I ask my mum if it was just me but she didn’t notice anything at all even my friends didn’t notice a weird smell to it. I am currently in my teenage years but i cant tell why i am experiencing this
We think that teachers have a part of the responsibility of preventing cheating on quizzes, and we decided to make a tool that assists in reducing this incidence.
We made https://queezed.io a tool that helps teachers prevent their students from cheating using an Anti-Cheat System that generates 100s ready-to-print unique versions of a document in minutes.
🔁 Randomize a Quiz
With Queezed, you can transform your Quizzes to PDF documents, including unique versions in minutes; for example, if you have 20 students and 15 questions in your original quiz, each of the 20 students will have his own unique copy where everything is randomized, questions, and responses, which helps to improve the assessment performance by preventing cheating.
✅ Correct Answers
We also take the stress out of grading by giving access to the correct answers of each student's unique paper by scanning the student paper QR Code or by accessing print's history.
Do you think it is a teacher's responsibility to prevent cheating on quizzes? If Yes, how can they reduce this incidence?
Hey! I (high school student) am currently doing a project with the aim to analyse the impact of UNESCO's learning goals and outcomes on the creation of education policies worldwide. I will be working with specific countries, but I would like to ask your general opinion of UNESCO's impact on that sense. Would you say the trends set by the UN/UNESCO have any impact in the way policies are carried in your community?
Thank you all in advance :) If any of you would like to contribute or know anything about what I'm doing, feel free to send me a message!
Imagine you have a favourite food, like cookies, which you are really happy about. Now you get kidnapped to a place thats filled with tons of cookies, and you are forced to start eating them as fast as you can. Everytime you take a pause, you get beaten up and tortured. So you keep eating, throwing up, getting beaten up, eating again. Now after many days of this tormenting, you will never even want to think about a cookie again and get ptsd when seeing one. The same way it happens with formal education: Children are naturally very curious and excited to learn and explore the world, until they get kidnapped and forced through school/university where this gets eradicated, because enthusiasm and curiousity is just hindering for a good employee.
As I am being more involved with discussions prior to officially joining, I'm learning that there are a lot of problems big and small that are being discussed but my fellow board members seem to be under the impression that they need to solve these problems from scratch. I want to find a subreddit where other community leaders discuss different ideas and ways they've addressed problems because I'm sure there is some overlap between their situations and ours. Obviously I would like to avoid crossing any lines of confidentiality or legalities, but I would like to be able to discuss the housing crisis in my county and how my school district could possibly utilize their abundance of empty lots to make consistent income for the district by providing housing.
Another concept is our zero tolerance policy for discrimination or hate crimes is unenforceable without catching someone red-handed. One example is a parent came to me and claimed their child getting called the f-word and n-word and chased because he's gay and black. But there is not any way to followup beyond a discussion with the accused. Surely there has been some benchmark out there on how to approach and prevent this.
Recently I gain a intersnhip opportunity in London. Any suggestions about where can I find financial support to do this?I study medicine in Turkey so any small amount will make a difference for me.
Was hoping to find something where you are given articles and you need to establish if they are fake or not.
I am very confused on what to do. I want to go start my bachelors soon and I figured I can get started on a bachelors for vet tech. However, my end goal is a VDM degree. I thought that I would be working on my vet tech while working at a clinic so I'd be getting experience as well, but I was told its a bad idea. I'm just overall confused on what to do next haha.
TIA
As I start my journey of being an aspiring teacher, I'm also having second doubts and mishaps and worries whatnot. I've never taught before, but seeing the amount of COVID cases rise, teachers leaving and shortages has made me suddenly worried. I know I'll be a good teacher, but I'm curious to know, for those who couldn't do it anymore, that have left the profession, where are you working now? I'd love to have a graceful exit if this just isn't for me. Thanks.
Of the two words that appear below, which do you think would be higher on Bloom's taxonomy, or, would they be at the same level?
I teach accounting at the college level, and the textbook uses the word "measure," to describe processes that I believe would be better described as "calculate." I hope I'm not being pedantic, but it bothers me every time I see it. I am a former accounting practitioner, if that matters.
Would love to hear the thoughts of other educators here. Thx.
Hi everyone,
Online courses have been booming in the last few years, especially with the rise of the pandemic. But there’s still one major issue students are facing. Video courses are less navigable than textbooks which means that they are not able to reach their full potential. In fact, many students are struggling to find the exact information/moment that occurs in one video, so they’re losing pretty much time on searching for what they need.
Hence, I decided to put my knowledge and experience as a developer and build an end-to-end solution in order to solve the problem many students nowadays face. Finally, I came up with a solution called Omnisearch.
Basically, what Omnisearch can do is ingest the data from multiple sources so the users can easily obtain the information they need immediately. For example, if you’re searching for “python programming” you will get the exact seconds of the video where this phrase occurs.
I’m in the process of developing the product and adding new features, but I also want to hear honest feedback from you.

BTEC Nationals is regarded as one of the most robust progression pathways towards Higher Education; it provides the learner with a profound understanding of concepts and practices necessary to progress in the business sector. BTEC Nationals provides the learner with a competitive advantage when it comes to effective progression in Higher Education and Employment.
So I'm finishing a 4-year technical high school in Europe with a focus in Electronic Engineering. My school offers the exact same program, curriculum and degree as the Staten Island Technical High School. I took this school as an example just because It's in the US.
However, after applying to Nanyang Technological University for Aerospace, they rejected me just because my degree was technical. I also applied for Economics at Erasmus University and got the same answer. I just hope It's not the same case for Aerospace in the US.
My country's degree Is internationally recognisable, especially as we are permanent international education treaty signers.
What could be causing this? Are the universities being racist just because of the country I come from?
P.S.: I come from Albania.
Hey everyone!
I am a high school senior and part of my AP government class is to better understand political polling and what makes a poll valid. In an attempt to get more responses and hear from a diverse sample, I thought I should post the Google form link on Reddit! It would mean a lot if you could take a few minutes (should not take long at all, maybe 5 minutes) to complete it. The subject is education policies.
Thank you so much! (upvotes help spread the word too!)
Hello everyone!
Recently Boston University in Boston, MA, USA, has introduced a new B.S. in Education and Human Development. What do you all think of the program from your perspective? I'm only a student so my understanding of the field of education is minimal. I have included a link in the comments below to describe the major in detail.
In general, the program has five pathways; Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Deaf Studies, Educational Design for Transformative Futures, Teaching & Learning, Youth Development & Justice. And below is their general pitch:
This program combines coursework and field-based experiences in education, human development, psychology, and the social sciences, and opens doors to future opportunities such as undergraduate research, teacher licensure, and diverse careers.
This is an article from City Journal.
The gap in perspective between professional educators and the communities they serve about what public education is for has grown unsustainably large.
The gap is most evident, and costly, on the question of what outcome a good education should lead toward. For the current generation of reformers, the answer is simple: a college degree. Embracing this college-for-all mentality, secondary schools have become college-prep academies held accountable to rigorous testing regimes and college-going rates, while policymakers have plowed hundreds of billions of dollars into subsidizing higher education. Leading proposals for “free college” and student-loan forgiveness reinforce those commitments.
American parents disagree.
...
A third blind spot, though, may be causing the most damage in practice. Professional educators cling to an ideal of equity that bears little relationship to what parents know about their children and want for them. Educators have long despised the idea of “tracking” students. Over a century ago, Charles W. Eliot, president of Harvard University, said, “I refuse to believe that the American public intends to have its children sorted before their teens into clerks, watchmakers, lithographers . . . and treated differently in their schools according to their prophecies of their appropriate life careers. Who are we to make these prophecies?” In the 1980s, the New York Times reported that “traditional ability grouping is under attack from education experts as racist, elitist or simply a bad way to teach.” In recent years, The Atlantic has taken to calling tracking “The Other Segregation” or “Modern-Day Segregation.”
This year, reflecting the latest fads in education ideology, California proposed mathematics guidelines that reject the idea of naturally gifted children altogether, while New York City announced plans to discontinue its gifted and talented program. The dogma of college-for-all is an inevitable corollary of this orthodoxy: if all students have the same potential, all should be on the same track; if all are presumed to have the aspirations of the college-educated professional class, then of course public education should be built to send them all to college.
Parents consider this hogwash. By 61 percent to 39 percent, they say that “some students have the academic ability to succeed in college, and others do not” rather than “with the proper support, nearly every student can succeed in college.” Most strikingly, they support tracking by overwhelming margins. Given the choice between a model for high schools in which students are kept in the same courses with the goal of preparing all for college versus one in which families can choose different tracks that place their children in different courses headed toward different endpoints, parents choose tracking by more than six-to-one. That preference holds across political parties and across classes, including a 94–6 split among middle-class parents.
In political circles, conventional wisdom holds that while tracking might make sense in theory, you can’t say “tracking” because of purportedly negative connotations. This is simply wrong. Our survey split its sample, using the term “tracking” with half of parents and the more fashionable “diverse pathways” with the other half. Parents couldn’t care less.
Education majors or recent education grads!
I'm a research assistant this semester and looking for some responses to a survey about ELL students. If you have the time, I would love your feedback! This is part of a larger project on ELs in public school that I'd be happy to give more information on.
If you or anyone you know is an education major/minor or recent grad (teaching <5 years), I'd love to hear from you! Thanks!

Hello, I'm wondering if it's a thing where a University will accept all (or most) of the prior credits from a 3 year bachelor from one University and have them applied to its respective 4 year program. I'm sure it would be pretty institution specific. My local University will only allow up to two years of credits to be applied to a new degree. I'd like to be able to graduate with a three year, and then later pursue an honours degree so I can get into a masters program.
If anyone has any experience with this or has opinions feel free to share. :)
Allrighty hello everyone this my first post on this sub. I am here to discus if this very post is considered a post or not since my teacher actually tried telling me that if i dont write a formal interduction and ending it is not considered a post. So im here trying to find out if im retarded or if she is. Please i need awnsers!
It’s like a soccer match where you want your goal, but the Recruiter is the goalie. With the right practice, it is possible to score that goal. Let’s now see how this metaphor can entertain your brain.
Answer the question, “What is your expectation?”
This is the final part of the interview so make sure you have this answer ready. Go for a little higher from your expectation that’s the universal rule and try to find the middle ground.
Answer the “Why” first if you’re switching companies, answer the why by answering the following: I have xyz years experience, I understand the role well, and I am able to make big changes. I want to be financially secure and able to focus on my job.
Every person who switches jobs wants a raise in their salary, so don’t be ashamed or unsure. Communicate confidently and give a reason.
How can you make sure the number quoted isn’t absurd?
For the same job, quote a decrease of 40% if it’s in the same city, but with a different company. If you’re moving to a different city, you can go higher.
Also, this expectation can be supported by the cost of living in that new city. If you have lived in small cities, and are moving to a more cosmopolitan place, you can clearly state the difference in the standard of living and justify your expectations based on this.
Ask the interviewer about their budgets and how much they are willing to negotiate.
What time should you follow up?

I’m currently 17 years old, at my second (and final) year of a BTEC Health and Social Year course. I regret not doing A-levels, and I’m not sure how to go about this. Most sixth forms only accept ages of 16-19, so I don’t know whether to just stick with the BTEC or look into somehow sitting A-levels. Any suggestions?
I just miss an exam today, what should I do?
Is that mean I failed? I'm just done, fuck my stupid brain
Dear sub,
some months ago I did my first TEDx Talk about education & innovation. The core message of the talk is the suggestion to make 3 small but impactful changes/additions to current western educational systems.
I’m writing here in the hope that I can get some constructive feedback about it, the name of it is “Are schools prepared for the future?” and was just recently published on the official TEDx channel! I hope to hear back from some of you. <3
This is a video talking about teachers strikes in the United States, and the effects they have on our society.

I got like 54-55 out of 100 for my postgraduate degree essays. I know my problem is that i have a trouble with reading so i don’t have a wide range of literature to justify my essay. Like i don’t know which literature is suitable and i have anxiety in starting to read the new literature. Sometimes i read and i can’t understand some points of that literature.
I have recently started a position where I pull out small groups for literacy and math intervention for 30 minutes at a time. Most of the students are cooperative, but as you can imagine, I have some of the more challenging students in these sessions, and some of the most distractable students in the room with them, so it only takes one rebellious or attention-seeking kid to derail the learning.
Most of the articles, guides and resources I've found for managing behavior are directed towards classroom teachers, and do not always apply to the small group setting.
Does anyone know a resource or resources for this setting? I work with 3rd-8th grade (I know, it's a wide range). Thanks!
I'm currently struggling hard with in-person highschool and they refuse to accommodate me... in practicality I think I would do best in an online school environment, but it's very difficult to find these things online...I've talked to my counselor but they don't know what to do either. What should i do? Does anyone know any good ones? NYS btw
I live in the middle east where (unfortunately) hitting children is not only allowed but actually encouraged by the fathers of the child in order to make the kid "more responsible and manly".
I believe that this form of abuse is one of the main reason behind the failure of the education system in the middle east simply because schools seem more like prison camps rather than places that encourage your curiosity and imagination.
I remember seeing little children being spanked so hard by Arabs from other nationalities, the image haunts me to this day.
Thankfully it became illegal around the early 2000's and yet I've actually heard debates on the radio as to "bring back" this cruelty so that the next generation won't become "soft".
It's sickening to say the least.
(if you think there a better place to ask for this about "orientation" and questioning please point to those)
A bit of myself, im 38 male from Quebec, with ADHD and potentially on the autism spectrum, I finished my High school with much hassle, even though I never studied (I never learned how to study), I was able to thrive in most class, except french (which is my native language class) and PE (im not sporty). Since I had trouble with "learning" and being able to be functional I couldn't do college, back then in my 20's.
Mainly because the french literature and philosophy were obligatory course and I couldn't deal with how boring and pointless the literature was for me and that I just had a hard time "understanding" or being able to do the written where you write idea and such in a philosophical manner (mainly because of ADHD, its just very hard to transcribe idea into word) and thus just abandoned that idea, since there where no way to complete anything without those course. Most of my problem were I could not understand why its important for me to "learn" such topic that I had NO interest and that I couldnt really make "use" for myself, like literary analyze was something that I found totally "useless" in my eye, that I couldn't see any reason or point of learning/understanding such technical information when its will basically NOT serve me and its not something important for the field I was aiming (programming)
Recently I wanted to go back in University, because without any kind of such degree, im stuck professionally. But with my "personality" and the way school works, I can't seem to be able to function, 99% of class are just purely abstract, exam with very high % value and are all base of "memorization" and very very highly demanding of crunch time in a 3-4 hours long requirement (being ADHD its very very hard to be able to focus such an amount of time), and I have seen multiple exam with purely direct "binary" question, either you know the answer or you dont.
For me I just dont see how they can or even have any value of testing the knowledge like that
a) I may have forgotten the answer, thus no answer, but I may know the answer, just forgot
b) I may have misread, misunderstood, misinterpret, or because the teacher "purposely put a [trap]" (etc), the question and then answer it wrongly,
c) I may just not know, right now, but I could have verified information (or whatever), but since most doesnt allow access to anything, which to me makes no sense in a way. How often do you need such information RIGHT NOW and IMMEDIATELY? yeah sure can be important when you need to make a decision if you are a heart surgeon, but 99,9% it is not that necessary, also just because I dont know [X] does that really mean I dont know anything in the whole subject or that I dont understand?
One of the class I had made me a bit "angry". That 99% of the practical works and homework were: "Read the following pages in the book then just complete with the book the things to send me", ok then if I just read and follow a book and that you don't really "teach" anything other than following the book, what is the point of the class in the 1st place, just to have an "exam"?
(the class was a programming class and basically got 95%+ in the homework part, because all the stuff where "copy and paste" from the book to make it work)
and then I had this language class, the first beginner was ok, even thought some homework and exam question were very difficult, like not really kind of question you should ask beginners, and then in my 2nd beginner class, I really felt like it jumped in difficulty, I had very hard time following, and that I found that there were a lot of stuff that was not explained or dealt with enough, then did the first big homework and I had to ask question, even with asking native speaker and other learners of that language, some of the question were very very hard to answer, and some part (but I guess that a "me" problem) where I could not understand some weird logical misunderstanding (see note 1 at the bottom), but that the teacher and their helper mostly said that for each hours of class you need to "study" for 2 or 3 hours more to train yourself. I understand that there can be some part of personal learning, but if I was never shown and explain something (on how to use or such) how am I supposed to study by myself or learn. Also, similar to my programming class, if I have to take 20 hours of personal learning compare to 5 hours of class, what is the point of the class then?
So now my problem i have is basically bureaucratic, where I cant function, adapt and subjugate myself to this structure, and that I just dont see why.
A person [A] doing learning in a school completing [X] subject and diploma just by following some random structure.
but a person [B] doing some learning by himself and having about the same knowledge level of [A] but we dont care or even consider that to be worth a diploma. Hmm what? what is really the difference? if anyway a big % of all class is about learning by yourself anyway? why there basically no recognition just because the person [B] didnt go through YOUR university loop?
like the example I like to give is, when you need help with your accounting, you go see and accountant right? Are you going to ask your lawyer accounting question, obviously not, well here its the same, let pretend I'm a programmer, why do come and ask me literature, literacy or language question? I'm not a journalist, im not an author, why do you care?
anyway, I guess at this point I dont know what I'm supposed to do, I just cant wrap my head or change my ideology just so I can "fit" in the school structure, which suck, because to me, makes no sense that I would have to completely and drastically change the way I do and "learn" just for that, which is just impractical and ridiculous demands and that I feel like that 90% of it is just pure bureaucracy and not really caring about "what you have learned"
With trying to be quite subjective I think I have "knowledge" and experience enough to have quite a big "skip" or such in multiple-field BA, but most of those field REQUIRE that you learn whatever...
Like when I look at teaching English as a second language, they ask 5 or so literature subject ( Im not going in English first language here, and neither going high enough in the curriculum to have to teach literature, so what is the point?), similar idea behind class like "History of the Language", "Cultural History" or "Children Psychology", yes I understand that they can be important, be are they really necessary to that level? like you need to know EVERYTHING, im just teaching english second language to high shool kids for example, sure, its can be useful, but that theoretical stuff for very practical subject, (for me you can't fully understand has long has I have done it, abstract concept and idea can be somewhat understood, but its pretty "moot" for me to learn it that way, im going to forget it the next day because I dont apply the knowledge and thus being "pointless")
Note 1: Like I said I think its purely a "me" not understanding some explanation, here the example: (although this is roughly translated from the language im learning but you'll see the idea)
"I am at the park" -> at the show a location. "I am on the bench" -> on the, also show a location
"The news are playing on the tv" or "The movie is playing on the theater screen", supposedly the "on the" here is not [a location] but rather the means / the medium that its used to show the corresponding element. although you could ask "where are the news showing" and then answer "on the tv" and be grammatically correct.
Note 2: I have seen a lot of things which just require a BA, like going abroad and working, but that the only "thing", you could have done a BA 20 years ago, doesnt matter, its just a question of bureaucracy, which to me is just stupid, why does it matter that I have or not a BA, let say I have done a BA 15 years ago (which could be basically true) it is really relevant information NOW? something I may have learn / done 15 YEARS ago? really? why such stupid pointless blockade
Well, I hope I was clear enough with my myriad of idea going everywhere
So i was never the best kid in school and my grade were average. But i decided to go to uni ant give it my all. Im studying eletric enganiering. At the start it was awsome. I could keep up with everything and what i lacked in school knowladge i made up in effort. But now before the exams i feel totaly burned out. The past two months my grades droped because the new topic became extreamle difficult for me. I lack a lot of knowladge because i was really lazy and unintrested in school. And now i cant keep up with every thing. Due to covid last year was terrible for leassons. So my uni made it so that incase of a nother lockdown we must do as much as possible before the winter. So the past two months we allmost only learned the theory by ourself and had to do tests and writhing task constantly. In the past two week we had about 14 different test and CAD works to do. I hate my course. I feel deppresed. The thought of uni makes my sick. I dont want to leave because i allredy paid for the first semester. But i fear that things wont get better and i will waist more of money. Sorry for the gramer mistakes. Not from USA/UK
I was applying to colleges and I noticed i was in the 8th decile on my transcript. I asked my friend and he said their is 80% of the class ahead and 20% behind and online in says the opposite…. anyone know for sure?

Hello, I'm taking AP Biology for both a high school and a college credit (I'm 16). I have always been a super good student, but for AP bio i can't seem to get studying for the chapter tests right. My testing average for the class was an 88%, but that's because I got a 100% on the first test, which was super easy. Not counting that one and one other that I got a 90 on, my average is a 68% which is a solid D+. I scraped an A by last trimester by setting the curve for the final somehow, but I don't have the first easy chapter to bring my testing average up anymore. I am at a loss for how to study for the tests and actually retain all the information from the textbook when I am reading it. I don't know if this is the right sub but I really need help because I really really want to do well.
This seemed like a very insightful and thought-provoking essay on the evolution of the American university in its larger cultural goals and character. I'm curious what other educators think of it?
Major procrastination and looming deadlines from other classes caused my Science Fair Project to fall behind on its progress. The research that I did on my engineering project didn't seem to be relevant or even actually work. When I created my prototype, by using hotwires to connect a 12V Sealed Lead-Acid Battery to an audio speaker, the flow of power would always be from electrical energy (the battery) to sound energy (the speaker), even after switching wire configuration and internal coil direction. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or something that I should've done?
Clearly coding is a major skill for the future job market.
However, as tech constantly changes, what should we teach K12 students?
Languages they will actually use in college or first jobs?
Or, focus on fundamentals?
Do you also feel sometimes that you need to possess some good leadership qualities to get ahead in your class, exams, and extracurricular activities.
If yes, then here are some leadership qualities each student must have
If not, then here are some leadership qualities each student must develop
The leadership qualities are
Let me know out of 5 how many qualities do you possess?
With how the pandemic is bringing all issues of society fully transparent, the education system in particular; paying full fees despite classes being online, the sheer burnout all students are feeling from everything as a whole, degrees becoming valued like highschool diplomas just for minimum wage jobs.. what do you guys think is a reliable and safe option for those who do want an education but really does not want to deal with any of this? At this point there doesn't seem to be any honestly

Feeling disheartened looking at assessment data right now. We have 15% of our students at grade level. 85% are below grade level and most are 2-3 grade levels behind. We’re a majority low income school district. We spend millions and millions for intervention programs and rarely see significant progress. The real problem for student achievement is wealth inequality. We implement these complex programs that may or may not work, when we really need something like a $5,000 - $10,000 cash incentive for graduating high school. That, or some other kind of UBI program tied to certain metrics. We’re overcomplicating education. Wealth disparities and structural racism cause poor outcomes. Paying for expensive contractors for some shiny program may not necessarily improve outcomes.
Hi, I hope this is the right place for this. I have a young child that is obsessed with building and is really quite good at it. I am looking for a type of school (or a specific school) that will teach him through those types of skills. Math through engineering and building type of stuff. It would be great if he came out with real skills like carpentry or something after his many years. Sort of a trade school, but one where most traditional topics are taught truly hands on. Any ideas? Thank you!
I don't hope to answer this question empirically (although if you happen to have that info that'd be great too), but rather I'm wondering if any teachers have anecdotally noticed any changes in their classrooms as a result of what appears to be a trend of increased rates of homeschooling by a certain subset of the population.
I was literally fine doing it online it was better, and now being back, I’ve never wanted to kill myself more than I do now. Being back in person made me realize all the ridiculous things they put you through. Whoever decided kids need to deal with all this bullshit along with all the other things they have to go through can go to hell. They really need to change the educational system so that kids can actually focus on relevant things instead of getting reprimanded for pointless things and burning them out with pointless filler assignments, tests, and projects that are worth ridiculous amounts of their grades. Do better.
My understanding is that teachers independent schools and charter schools in the US are generally not unionized, while, in states that allow it, almost all public schools do have teachers' unions.
I am curious to know if there are private schools or charters where teachers have unionized, and how that happened, whether it has improved relations with admin or made it more dysfunctional etc.
I need all the assistant phyiscally possible. <3
Hey teachers! How do you feel about hyperdocs? Are they any good? Do you use them if so why?
I teach in a K-8 Catholic school. Our students are probably more sheltered than public school students. I was recently talking with our 6th grade teachers and was shocked to learn that most of this year's 6th graders still believe in Santa. The teachers confirmed that in past years it would have only been a couple per class who were still believers. I can't help but to wonder if the pandemic has been a factor. The kids still socialize and have social media, but has less socialization made them less street wise? They seem like a less mature bunch, but is that also due to the chaos of the pandemic?
My girlfriend has finished her AA and is just starting her Bachelor's at UCF in FL. She wants to move to California and ultimately end up in med school. She would have her 1 year's residency for in-state tuition in Cali. I assume transferring universities is very difficult and we don't believe she would look exceptional on paper based on her grades and such. I believe the plan would be going through CC again to take advantage of the TAG program to directly transfer to a Cali university. That is what I did when I moved, but I was only half-finished with college at the time so I could transfer what I had.
Would she have to start college over, or would she be able to transfer a certain amount of classes and only do what is required for the TAG program in order to be accepted at a Cali university?
Hey all, I work as an assistant in a Kindergarten class and this girl has never been to a preschool or daycare and she’s just a bit behind her peers in writing. We’ve worked quite a bit on pencil holding but she’s still not holding it correctly. Whenever I correct her, she says “It hurts!” We’ve tried pencil grips and many different explanations, but she is adamant that they all hurt. At first I thought maybe she was just being stubborn but now I’m wondering if there might be something else going on. I’ve talked to the teacher about it but she’s not particularly worried since the class has a few kids without more glaring issues. But I can see this girl struggling to write when all her friends can already write a little bit and she is consistently the slowest to finish. For reference, she grips the pencil with her whole fist and writes like this. It’s been several months and I can’t seem to break her of the habit. Any advice??
Say for ex,
You take a 14 or 15 year old girl, and train her like a fighter and huntress. Pherhaps exposing said patient to violence.
But, in a way that she will be able to be a pretty good soldier like person.
Hey everyone,
I work at a school with high school students who mostly work online. I'm looking for a school-safe music streaming site (maybe that just plays lo-fi or instrumentals?) that I can allow the students to use to help them focus during silent work. YouTube had to be blocked for obvious reasons. Does anyone know of any? Or does anyone have any alternative solutions? Thanks!
Yes, after graduating a couple of years ago with my bachelors, I'm proud to say that 5 years later, I'm going back to school for my master's. I'm completely excited. Life during that time felt like a motionless boat, and now I'm going back to school, to learn and I couldn't be more happy about this. Just wanted to share.
Looking for resources for 13-15 year old students struggling with proportional reasoning.
Thank you.
I am doing a double degree at college, which means I will soon graduate with two separate degrees. It will have taken me 5 years to finish since that is how long it takes to get a double degree over here.
I will be applying for jobs abroad and I would like it to be clear that I will have two degrees, but I can't decide what the best option to put this on my resume is. I thought of the 2 following options:
1 )
The University of British Columbia (2017-2022)
B.Sc., Science
The University of British Columbia (2017-2021)
B.Ed., Education
2 )
The University of British Columbia (2017-2022)
Double Degree in B.Sc. Science and B.Ed. Education
I feel like if I pick option number 2 it might not be as clear or easy to notice that I'll graduate with 2 degrees as in number 1, and that that is why it will have taken me 5 years to graduate.
What would you choose or do you think is best?
All opinions are welcome. Thanks!

Hi, I was hoping I could get some teacher advice on a situation.
On my first day of Leadership class, I met my teacher and she seemed okay. Mid-way into the class, she pulls out a lotion to put on her hands, and 2 seconds after she applied the lotion, a friend of mine complains of her scent allergies. Mind you, my friend is highly allergic to scents. My friend asks, "is anyone using anything scented?" My teacher says no, but although I can't prove causation, it was fairly clear that the lotion my teacher used is what affected my friend. My friend sat through the class for an hour, coughing and at times throwing up. My teacher stayed cordial through it all and I found this repulsive. Again I'm not sure if she really did it or not but I've held the impression that she DID use a scented lotion that triggered an allergy, and refused to admit the mistake. Hopefully this gives some context to the succeeding information.
I'm a high 90's averaging student, but on the first presentation feedback we received, I scored a mid-70. On assessing my teacher's points, I found that she made some valid points, but I don't think they justified a 25 percent off my grade. In other classes, I'm certain these same points would still earn me a 95.
I just received an assignment today with a mid 80, and, again, her points were valid, but I don't think she should have taken off 15% for relatively minor things. Then again, many of my friends were also marked harshly. Though, some weren't at all.
Please note the earlier story as well. I strongly dislike this woman and I've made it clear. Not directly, but I'm no good at hiding my feelings. I just act very cordial and professional around her, not super friendly. I think she senses my dislike and tends to respond similarly.
I suspect teacher bias, especially since this is a "leadership" course with no formal curriculum. I am going to talk to another teacher and see how she would have graded an assignment of mine. I am seriously considering dropping this class, mostly because my average is at risk.
Tldr; teacher (maybe) did something I consider morally wrong, I dislike her for it. I suspect she recognizes my dislike. Her grading scheme is very harsh. It will affect my grades.
What do you think? Should I talk to her? Am I in the wrong? I think a lot of this stemmed from my first interaction with her. I just don't think what she did was morally right. Then again, I don't have to. I don't even have to like her. But, now, this is also affecting my grade and thus my prospects at university. I appreciate any advice.
Hello, not sure if this is the correct subreddit for this but hopefully someone can provide some insight.
I am soon to be graduating from law school and would like to set up an endowment for my high school. Specifically, to be used for the purchase of winter clothing for underprivileged kids. Does anyone have any information regarding how to go about this? I would like it to be an endowment with a certain distribution every year so that it never runs out. Although I'm unsure of how the management of the endowment and its investments would work. I am hesitant to hand it over to a school board lol.
Any information, anecdotal or not, would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi, does Stanford or Harvard have specific questions that they ask your recommenders to answer? I have not been able to find those questions, but I know that their business schools do have specific questions that need to be answered.
Thank you for your time!
What happens if I get a really high score on the Math Section and a medium score on the English Section? Will my English Section negate my Math Section in terms of any programs or scholarships?
I'm at Duke university and I'm creating an app to support music students in their daily practice. I think it would really benefit high school and middle school students who are struggling with practice. Does anyone know where I can find this?
I think this society has lost the meaning of education, now days education is in having a piece of paper that called degree, Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, morals, beliefs, habits, and personal development., this definition is from Google but see not even a one thing from definition is in our education system, our education system is too lazy to update the required curriculum to enhance student performance but forget about the performance they only think how they can complete a course that actually uncompleted in terms of scalability our colleges don't have a good faculties they even lacks the basic knowledge of the subject they are covering, everything is changing but our education system remains the same, actually our conditioning done wrong when we were kids and still today our system and environment not pressurise on "How to Think" but pressures on "What to Think", that is big reason behind why we can't question the system, according to my thoughts informal education has the best way to just not to educate but to build a positive character among one who seeks knowledge and wanted to make difference in world where everyone is running in proving something but to not understand thyself, that's why I came to this decision, a decision to challenge, a decision to change, I dropout of college, I'm going to be autodidact, a self taught person and self made man far from this societies rights and wrongs, I'm in the process of discovering myself to know me more, thank you so much if you are still reading you too have the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. -Vedant Pandya
Do you guys have any idea what are the teacher's common mistakes in teaching subject and predicate to the students?
I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in chemistry two years ago. I’m currently working as research assistant/project manager for a small scientific regulatory consulting firm. I enjoy what I do, but I don’t want to pursue it as a long-term career. I want to go back to school to start working on my master’s degree sometime within the next 2-3 years. I know that I still want to have a career in STEM, but I’m not sure which route would be best for me to take. I’m consider either teaching (specifically science/math education) or forensic chemistry (specifically toxicology or forensic drug chemistry). I’d be more likely to choose the career path that would allow for more flexibility because I eventually want to be a parent, and I want to foster and/or adopt. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Hey so my girlfriend is a education major and for her class she has to model a adolescent suicide prevention initiative. She wants a catchy and creative name. Any ideas?

The website was a little bit opaque in regarding the type of person they prefer to select, so I am posting here (I checked, and I do meet the prerequisites for an application). The reason I am leaning towards "no" is because my path has not had any particular emphasis on volunteer work, and this seems like a significant factor in who they select to receive the grant from what I've heard. I'm hoping to go into academia and do research on computational cognitive neuroscience, and it seems like it would be difficult to spin a narrative from this around me being someone who wants to help people and be a leader. I could probably make it work in an essay, but people who are devoting their lives to this seem like they'd have much better odds of receiving the grant if helping others is a key component in the application. This won't be helped by how I no longer have had time to do volunteer work.
People who are familiar with the Rhodes Scholarship: do you need to be a full-time leader in the community who wants to focus on philanthropy for a career in order to be selected, or can you be interested in a more diverse field (i.e., research) and still be taken seriously? Thank you in advance for all your responses!
I’m currently a junior who has taken mostly ap and honors courses, aside from a few electives. I have a ACT of 31. I have mostly A’s and B’s. But freshmen year I got a c in first semester GeometryH and this year I will be getting a c in PreCalcH, ApChem, and Spanish 4H. Will I be able to get into a finance program at Penn state, UofI, or UofMaryland.
i’m taking drivers ed right now, and i haven’t had any issues turning in assignments until now. I had a 60 point assignment due 11:59 pm on monday. I procrastinated on the assignment for a while, but i got it done before the due the date. My teacher sent me an email telling me that turning in assignments late was half credit, and i sent an email back explaining that i thought it was due on monday. I talked with my teacher after class, and he was super mad at me. He said that i was irresponsible, and should’ve known that the assignment was due on sunday. I told him again why I thought it was due on monday, but he said I shouldn’t have waited that long to do the assignment anyways. I think that regardless of how long I waited to do an assignment, i should get full credit if I turn it in the day it said it was due. Is there anything I can do at this point?
As title suggests I’m stuck on what to do, I currently go to college and am studying my 1st year in T level construction full time to hopefully become a chartered surveyor.
I don’t know if I should go for an apprenticeship and go to college 1 day a week doing the alternative construction course and go to uni in the future (this is what my uncle did and he has became very successful). Or continue with the T level course full time, get a part time job then go to uni once I’ve finished in college?
The poors in underdeveloped nations have lives that are pretty much determined for them
The poors are born to undereducated parents and in an unfortunate place
Being born to undereducated parents and in an unfortunate place puts the poors in much more of a disadvantaged life relative to the better of
The poors have much less access or know-how what is good and bad info
Education and good information is extremely important
Commercialization has many widely known good and bad things
For bad things, business put out a lot of bad info to misled consumers
Sugars and those eating excessive sugar builds up diabetes over time
Or all the diets that don't help out there
Food companies put in bad chemicals/ingredients into foods
All sorts of other things
The poors have a very low chance of flourishing
They do not have the info needed to help them flourish
Being born in an unfortunate place is sad for their existence
There's nothing more detrimental their lives than where they were born, I'd agree with this

We already knew this, but it's helpful to have written research on it.
Hello everyone of Reddit.
I have been contemplating a thought process at the moment, and I wonder if it could be turned in to a reasurch project.
My question is if and how would on propose reasurch study to a university, who only has a bachelor's? Would it be even worth it?
Spefic discipline would be nursing/medicine.
Currently I have a Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Psychology
Hello everyone!
For a university project, I'm creating a small educational game and I am looking for some fun and interesting learning objectives that I can incorporate into the game! I am hoping to create an escape room style game where users learn while playing. I am still unsure about any specific area of history so am hoping for some ideas from everyone here. Any parts of history you find interesting and would like to see explored in a game format. The game will be very small as I only have 1-2 months to develop it, so I would appreciate if the scope of history is also limited.
If you have any specific learning objectives you would like to see explored, please feel free to share it. And if you have any ideas on how you think it should be implemented in the game, do share that as well - though the game will be quite small (acting more as a proof of concept), I would like the game to truly be educational and fun.
If you have any further questions, please post them and I will do my best to respond soon.
Thank you in advance!
I live in Magnolia, Texas, which is 45 miles north of Houston. I was wondering why we have a Bilingual curriculum for Hispanic students that teaches them the English language, but the districts do not offer Bilingual classes to other ethnic groups that speak only English. Everyone knows that Bilingual speaking persons are offered more money at their jobs.
I have read numerous posts that the school didn't do enough to stop this young man, or somehow letting him go back to class after a behavior meeting is cause for this tragedy. I'm on mobile so forgive spelling errors.
Here's somethings to think about as you criticize the school:
A teacher found a note suggesting he wanted to kill kids. She immediately took him to the principal's office and the parents were called. If parents don't want to do anything about it, schools cannot force kids into therapy without consent.
Schools can ask kids if they have access to firearms, but the types of parents who give their kids access to firearms are usually the same ones who freak out about schools asking that question. For you or I it seems logical, but a lot of parents who use guns as a hobby have an emotional attachment to their guns and think anyone remotely associated with the government, at any level, should stay silent about them. They conflate the right to own guns with the right to do whatever they want with them and it's no one's business. People don't freak out about asking if kids have access to a car after stealing a car, but they do for guns.
Schools try to take the safest approach with kids "on the edge". If they act too fast without "the right evidence", parents complain schools are picking on their kids. If a kid makes a bad joke most parents will tell the kid to knock it off, but some parents tell the school they're being too sensitive. Most importantly, these parents tell their child the school is being unreasonable and there's no need to change their behavior. Like the gun example above, they feel the world needs to bend for them, not the other way around.
So I have to prepare a research paper on "Creating models for predicting weather pattern"... I have no clue what to do in this... can anyone guide me a little?
Hi everyone! I know this isn't probably of much interest to most but I could really use some advice because I'm at crossroads here.
I'm 22 years old and currently in my last year of uni in Germany, where I study Translation and Interpreting for English, French and, of course, German.
After I finished High School here in Germany, I went to Guildford, Surrey to work as an Au Pair and stayed there for one and a half years. Since then, I have been back to the UK many times, also because I got into a relationship with a Brit and we did the long distance thing for a bit.
I've fallen out ouf love with the guy since, but my love for the UK has increased all the more!
One year ago, I was actually going to transfer to UCLan which is a university in Preston, but eventually decided not to, since it would have been a different course and I was worried about the whole 'Rona situation.
Now onto my question: For my course, I don't actually need to write a Bachelor's thesis because the state exam we take at the end of our course, qualifies for a Master's as well. However, I'm still taking the Bachelor's class at the moment, as it would be another qualification I could add to my CV. It is quite demanding, since it requires an entry exam which, when passed, then allows you to start writing your thesis.
So now I was thinking that I could get another Au Pair job in France and write my thesis there. This would practically kill two birds with one stone since I could improve my French and wouldn't have to pay for board and food while still getting a bit of money (and obviously look after cute kids again!).
After that, I could start my Master's in the UK in September 2023 (so far, I'm thinking Bath or Edinburgh).
What worries me, however, (and I know it probably sounds shallow) is my age. I would be 24 when starting the course, and I know that British students finish their courses quite quickly, most of them starting uni straight after their A-levels. In Germany, it's quite common for people to finish their course in their late twenties because many of us take gap years, do apprenticeships first or change their courses.
Also, I've been looking forward to return to the UK for so long now and I would also like to study at a bigger university for once. (My school is great, but due to its size, it often feels just like that: a school)
So the alternative would be to do my Master's one year earlier when I'm still 23 and not too old for night clubs haha
I know it's a silly fear but it is kind of ingrained in myself that life finishes after 25. Also, the Bachelor thesis kind of is unnecessary as I've mentioned before, the state exam qualifies me for a Master's, too.
If you've ever had to made a similar decision or if you could help me decide what to do, I would be delighted to hear about your opinions.
Thank you so much in advance!
