Beginning the journey of school psychologist

I’m beginning the path to becoming a school psychologist, and have a few questions.

What are some things educators feel a school psychologist should be aware of that might not be usually considered coming into the school environment?

What culture shocks should I expected working in disadvantaged areas, and what is the lived experience of working in these areas?

How often should I be prepared to get sick throughout the year? I’ve accepted this will be a given working in that environment, but just looking to forward plan how much leave I will be actually be able to take as holiday versus need for sick leave.

No bias or judgement on my part, just looking to go into situations aware and informed.
