ipad or laptop to carry to uni? I already have a PC at home

Hi so, my parents been telling me to search for a new laptop that is very light or tablet, whatever its more convinient. I already have a PC at home, and a laptop but this one, as i have upper back issues, makes my neck and upper back hurt horribly if i carry it in my backpack for a long time period. And that happens a lot so, they have told me to check and tell them.

Now im between getting the ipad +pen and keyboard like more than half of my class. Or getting a light laptop. I already have a well built PC at home. Looking for opinions and recommendations.
